Bihar Voluntary Health Association has been working in the State of Bihar for past 42 years with a vision to achieve health for all in the state with the help of its network. BVHA has successfully achieved desirable outcome by addressing several health and development issues during last several years. BVHA works on the need of the members and demand of the situation. Time to time need assessment of members is done through meetings, member visit, mailed questionnaires etc. and planning is done accordingly and strategies are formulated. BVHA had conducted Strategic Planning Workshops for planning of its activities. An intensive evaluation has also thrown an eye opening light on the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats of the organisation. The needs of the member organisations in relation to the community were thoroughly discussed in the Strategic Planning meetings. BVHA in its implementation of the programme has given full attention to the various recommendation of the evaluation for better programme management and creation of impact.

Our Goal.

The goal of BVHA is aimed at having a healthy community through community health action, by promoting social justice in the provision & distribution of health care. It is believed that people grow better when they are encouraged to do whatever they can for themselves. It is hoped that good health will become a reality for all the people only through organisational activities at the voluntary level. Persons and associations classed as voluntary have great opportunity to help people weakest & most depressed. To see the value of good health and have access to basic health services as human rights. Primary health is the prime crux of the health care delivery system and is most important to ensure community health promotion.

Our Mission.

The mission is to reach to the un-reached through Charitable Hospitals, Dispensaries, Health Centres & Voluntary Organisations/Institutions involved in health promotion and also groups, professionals & individuals engaged & dedicated with some concern in health promotion of the people of Bihar with priority for the less privileged millions with their involvement and participation through the Voluntary Health Sector.

• Primary health care with referral to more complex services.
• The basics of health such as adequate food, balanced diet, safe water and healthy housing.

• Collecting, exchanging and publishing of health educational and inspirational materials.
• Conducting health related educational institutions, services, courses, seminars, workshops, conferences and trainings.

• Presenting the views of voluntary health workers to legislative bodies, governmental units and regulatory agencies.
• Encouraging better standards of patients care and extension of general health services of member agencies by advisory inspection or any other means etc.
